Morning Sunshine Book Party Picture

CNN Worldwide EVP (and HLN head honcho) Ken Jautz, Robin Meade, and Bill Galvin, VP of programming for HLN.

A book party for HLN anchor Robin Meade was held at Dolce in Atlanta last night. An insider tells TVNewser there were concerns that the flooding would keep people away, but they ended up having twice the turnout. (Fewer shrimp puffs to go around). After the party, Meade headed back to HLN studios for a live shot to promote the book on “Nancy Grace.”

“Morning Sunshine! How to Radiate Confidence and Feel it Too” is in bookstores now.

Rebember that Pink Floyd song ?…

  2. karen says:

Robin, I am also from Ohio. I really enjoy you book. What is the song they play for your show? It’s comes on all day & night and it is stuck in my head. I just can’t figure out who sings it. Karen

  3. William Siemon says:

I like you, but I can’t stand that ‘SONG?’ you have for a theme song. The one doing the ‘singing’ sounds as if he/she died at the end of the word “you”. Music? What a letdown. Where’s the talent? Better yet, WHAT’S the talent? ………Bill Siemon Pleasant Valley, New York.

  4. cindy says:

I agree — that song is horrible.

  5. Susie says:

That is the worst and most annoying theme song ever! “Every morning when I wake up-i wanna MUTE you” And it is played all day on HLNews. Please, please change it.

  6. Rraine says:

Omg! I like Robin’s theme song! I was just looking around to find out who sings it.
Robin can sing, and beautifully too! :~) In fact, i’ve been thinking that the theme song may just be Robin herself!? It’s a womans’ rock n’ roll song to wake up to and I like it!

    Now….who sings it?

    ~ Peace ~

  7. William Siemon says:

To Rraine: Actually, no-one SINGS it. It is not SUNG. It is MOANED!

  8. fishin' jim says:

I LOVE that theme song. I came on this site trying to find out who sings it. It sounds like Joan Jett.

  9. fishin' jim says:

I’m talking about the “Every Morning When I Wake Up I Want To See You” song on the ads.

  10. William Siemon says:

To FISHIN’ JIM: You gotta be tone deaf.

  11. Brandon K says:

I googled “every morning when I wake up…” and so on and this is what I found. One of two pages tied to my search query is one bashing the song.

Listen, i too hate this song. It is the WORST theme song I’ve ever heard. I promptly change the channel or mute the television when it comes on. It’s bothered me so much that I took the time to post this after finding a site to post it on. I’m seldom so passionate about anything. Please, change your theme song. That, or get off the air. I’ve never seen your show, don’t intend to, but anyone who thinks that’s appropriate for a commercial that airs 5x an hour should be boo’d and have rotten fruit thrown at them.

    Thanks for your time.

  12. Jean says:

Seriously…who does sing that song? It is driving me nuts!

  13. viqi says:

I, too, found this site simply because I can’t stand it any more… I want to know who’s singing that annoying song. So I can be sure NOT to accidentally buy it.

But this is all I could find… Maybe it’s you, Robin, singing it?!

It’s not the voice that’s annoying. It that its “hillbilly rock” doesn’t match the tone of anything else that goes on at HLN. The only thing that’s almost as bad is the other off-brand song bed, “One thing leads to another.”

    Who’s picking this stuff?

  14. William Siemon says:

You’d never catch Lynne Russell allowing that kind of crap on HER show. She was CLASS!!

  15. Renee says:

This theme “music” makes me homicidal. I would never watch this show because of it. What a severe lack of good judgment as to what is appropriate for a newscast. I’ll bet viewers are being alienated left and right simply because they cannot take the assault of this amateurish head-banging crap. It is beyond awful and I truly question the credibility of any newscaster that would endorse it. GET RID OF IT!!!

  16. engle says:

I know that Robin Meade, herself is a singer and I sounds like it could be her. I bet you money it is. I would
to ask her if it is.

  17. engle says:

  18. bonebuzzard says:

Our breakroom runs CNN all day long and it drives me INSANE because I can hear it around the corner from my cubicle. I second the motion to GET RID OF IT!!! Geez

  19. heardthat says:

I agree fully about the terrible music on this station. My girlfriend watches this channel every morning and after two and a half years, I’m confident in saying I’ve had enough of the corny HLN music. Please change the music and get another DJ for the ‘going to commercial music.’ Bob Van Dillan and Jenniffer Westoven, rock on

  20. Mike says:

I spent six hours at the airport last week because my flight to New York was delayed, and they had CNN on. Every five minutes that commercial came on with that stupid song. I felt like poisoning my ears – it made my already uncomfortable wait in the airport even more excruciating.

  21. Vicki says:

Never have posted a comment on these kinds of websites but that song has driven me to comment. Please, Robin, you deserve better. It doesn’t seem to fit the tone of you or your show at all. Please have them find you another one.

  22. pAT says:

I READ ALL THE COMMENTS AND THEY ARE ALMOST UNANIMOUS THAT ROBIN MEADE’S EVERY MORNING WITH YOU SONG SUNG ON HLN ADVERTISING OFF AND ON ALL DAY COULD DRIVE ONE TO SUICIDE..IT IS TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE..LIKE MOST OF THE COMMENTERS SAY..I ACTUALLY TURN TO ANOTHER CHANNEL WHEN THAT SCREAMING, TONE DEATH MANIAC IS SINGING THE EVERY MORNING SONG WITH YOU.

I KNOW PINK FLOYD..HE HAS BEEN A SUCCESSFUL PERSON..BUT IF HE SINGS THIS GOOD MORNING SONG, HE MUST HAVE BEEN RECOVERING FROM A 3 DAY BINGE OF DRUGS.

IF IT IS ROBIN AND HLN IS PROMOTING HER SHOW BY LETTING HER SING, SHE HAS TO BE CUDDLING UP TO SOMEONE HIGHER UP AT HLN!!

  23. Charlene says:

The song and the singer suck!!!

  24. Dr Jones says:

Please Robin, you and all your show have class — except for the background “music” on the brief promo shows for your HLN program.

As the many before me have better said, we really like YOU and your show, but the howling/scream horrors in the background (“…I want to see you…”) suck with a capital “S.” Really, truly, honestly, painfully, terribly … the SUCK Robin! Sing something yourself–anything–and shred the current cacophony.

    Please? Thanks! :-/

  25. Renee says:

This “music” is the aural equivalent of a spit in the face. It makes me feel assaulted and furious.

  26. Diane says:

I agree Pat. I HATE HATE HATE this song. I only watch Nancy Grace and then change the channel. I used to watch a few other shows but I can’t take that horrid song anymore.
I also MUTE every time this —-song?— comes on.

  27. mikeyla says:

    I kinda like that song.

  28. Norm says:

i’ve been looking to find out what punk girl is rockin this kickass theme song. Why doesn’t the network reply at least?? Come on Robin.

  29. Rob says:

Come ON! So who sings the theme song?

  30. Summer` says:

END OF THE MYSTERY: Believe it or not, it’s Nick Jonas.

  31. A decent journalist says:

Robin Meade is awful ~ one of the worst female (or male, for that matter…) anchors CNN has ever put on air. I don’t think Meade respects her viewers, either. She behaves with arrogance, silliness, flirtatiousness, all while on air … & is a perfect example of ‘how not to do it’!
