Good Morning Campers!
Hope you had a nice weekend of getting some rest, getting that
“honey-do” list done, and whatever it is that makes your time
away from work relaxing.
Robin is off this morning, but she will be making her
triumphant return to the anchor desk tomorrow. Christi Paul
will be giving you your big Monday morning “HELLOOOOO” today.
Here’s what we’re working on:
Just a couple of days after Senator Barack Obama chose
Senator Joe Biden as his running mate, the Democrats kick off
their national convention today in Denver. Michelle Obama
is expected to give the keynote address tonight. Another
storyline to the convention: The role of the Clintons at the
convention. Richard will take a look at what part they’ll play
this week. We’ll be all over this story for the next few days
as history is made in Colorado.
Speaking of the DNC, if you are in Denver and looking to cut
loose you can do convention karaoke! Instead of singing
“Summer Loving” or “My Way,” people get to read the political
speeches of Obama & Senator John McCain (among others). There
are even pauses in the speech for applause. Wow—it sounds as
mind-numbing as regular karaoke! You can make the decision for
yourself this morning.
You know the mess that you can get when you open a box that
has been shipped to you. Packing material all over the
house…styrofoam peanuts everywhere. Well, imagine the mess
you’d have if the packing material was shredded personal checks
that could be pieced together. What if those checks were yours
and a criminal got their hands on them? We’ll have a story
about a company that was using the checks as packing material.
With the floods in Florida and the tornadoes in Colorado,
Bob is going to have a very busy day in the weather
department. The sports department tells me that they will
be putting a big red bow on the Olympics this morning. Wait
until you hear Rafer sound off on some of the sports that will
no longer be in the Olympics after this year and some of the
sports that were included in the past.
Well, that’s it. Hope to see you for your daily news buffet
this morning.
